POLY-cool® are yarns produced with special technologies developed to provide moisture transfer property to fabrics. The advantage of moisture transfer from known classic moisture-absorbing yarns and fabrics is that it carries the moisture it absorbs from the inner surface to the outer surface through channels. Thus, a person wearing an outfit made with POLY-cool ® does not feel wet in his/her body, even if he/she sweats. The part of the fabric that touches the body always stays dry, breathes and provides complete comfort.
Liquid moisture management testing to compare moisture transfer properties is conducted according to AATCC 195: 2012 Test Standard.
Sweat should be quickly removed from the body surface in the form of liquid and steam to ensure the comfort of the user and prevent the feeling of moisture on the skin.
The results obtained by this test are based on the water resistance, water repellency and water absorbency properties of the fabric structure. Examination of test results;
- It is observed that the fabric consisting of 5 Channel Cross-Section Yarn has a lower value of upper wetting time. The sweat solution is absorbed by the surface in 3 times faster and shorter time than the fabric consisting of Round Section Yarn.
- When the test results are examined, it is seen that the ability of the fabric surface obtained from the yarns in the round section structure to absorb moisture is high compared to the fabric form in the 5 Channel Cross-Section Yarn. With the channel section structure, moisture transfer is easy, cool and dry feeling is formed. In systems where the Round Cross-Section Yarn is used, moisture (sweat) is more difficult to transmit to the outer surface of the fabric, and a feeling of wetness occurs.
- A fabric consisting of a Round Cross-Section Yarn that shows a high upper spreading speed appears to have a low lower surface spreading speed. This is because the cumulative One-Way Transport Index Value of the fabric is low. In other words, the liquid dripped to the upper surface of the fabric showed a slower spread on the lower surface. This shows that the fabric formed from the yarn in the ducted section structure will create a drier feeling.
